China-made ultra-large lightweight remote control quay crane goes into service on Sept 18, 2013
The China-made ultra-large lightweight remote control quay crane completed loading of Mary Maersk, the world's largest container vessel, on Sept 18, 2013 when it was berthed at the Port of Qingdao in East China's Shandong Province.
The on-rail lifting height of the crane is 49 meters and the overhanging distance is 70 meters, a special design for 18,000-ton standard container vessels.
A remote control system completely developed by Zhenhua Port Machinery Limited was used for the first time, enabling the driver to control multiple cranes by computer in a central control room.
The strong ultra-large quay crane continues to serve larger-sized vessels around the world.
