The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant, located in Dapeng New Area in Shenzhen, went into operation on May 6, 1994.
With two 1 million kW pressurized water reactor generator units, the plant was the first large-scale nuclear power plant for commercial use on the Chinese mainland.
As its developer, China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN) introduced French technologies during construction.
