New-type advanced trains in China rolls off production line on Sept 9, 2012

A series of high-end train cars rolled off the production line in China CSR Corporation Limited (now merged with China CNR Corporation Limited into CRRC Corporation Limited) on Sept 9, 2012.

They were the most advanced in China at that time and were of seven types, including soft sleepers, hard sleepers, luggage carts, generator cars and dining cars.

The cars are operated on long-distance railways linking China, Mongolia and Russia in environment like low temperature and strong sandstorms for long travel periods.

Innovative technologies developed during manufacturing of high-speed trains and carriages operated on railways on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were adopted during production of these high-end vehicles.

They are driven by a generator car and operate at 120 kilometers per hour.

They feature a warm water cyclic heating system powered by coal and electricity, making the train able to operate in temperature conditions as low as minus 50 to 60 degrees Celsius.
