The first China-developed 4,200-millimeter rolling mill, developed by China National Erzhong Group Co. was completed and went into service on Sept 8, 1987.
It was the first wide-heavy plate mill completely designed and manufactured by China.
The machine contributed immediately to mass production of steel plate, which was urgently needed by departments related to the national economy, earning it the title “Rolling mill of Merit”.

The Core tube of Tianjin Gaoyin 117 Building which has the highest structure height in China — was capped on Sept 8, 2015.
The project was contracted by China State Construction Engineering Corporation.Concrete was lifted as high as 621 meters for the capping, which set a Guinness World Record.
The giant steel column of the building was the world’s largest at that time and the performance of the buckling-restrained brace also ranked at the top in world civil construction.
In addition, the number of high-strength bolts was the most among China’s super high buildings with high-strength steel structure.
Last but not least, the building, the highest in North China, had the largest building area among the world’s super high-rise buildings.

A freight train departed Xining, Northwest China's Qinghai Province en route to Antwerp, Belgium’s second largest city, on Sept 8, 2016, marking the start of the China-Europe freight train service in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The 9,838-kilometer Xining-Antwerp line passes through Gansu Province, the Alashankou Port, Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland and Germany before arriving at Antwerp.
It takes a train 12 days to make a single trip.
China Railway Construction Corporation Limited participated in the design and construction of the railway’s section in China. Other enterprises such as China Railway Group Limited also contributed to the construction.
