World's first extra-high voltage (EHV) double-column auto-transformer is developed on Sept 4, 2010

A 1,000kV and 1,000MVA extra-high voltage (EHV) double-column auto-transformer, the world's first, was developed by China XD Group on Sept 4, 2010.

The transformer has a double-column paralleled structure and the main and adjustable transformers are separated. Advanced technologies such as partial discharge control, vibration reduction, noise reduction and local overheating elimination were used during the development.

The construction was a breakthrough in the world's development of an EHV transformer with 334MVA of each column, and a milestone of technological innovation in China's EHVs.

It also laid a solid foundation for future research into three-column 1,000kV and 1,000MVA super EHV transformers.

The South Yolotan Gas Field Project in Turkmenistan goes into operation on Sept 4, 2013

The South Yolotan Gas Field Project in Turkmenistan went into operation on Sept 4, 2013 with an annual production of 10 billion cubic meters.

As the world's second largest monomer gas field, South Yolotan has proven reserves of four to six trillion cubic meters.

It was the gas source of the agreements for supply of 10 billion and 25 billion cubic meters of natural gas signed between China and Turkmenistan in 2009 and 2011 respectively.

Contracted by China National Petroleum Corporation, the project was another demonstration of energy cooperation between the two countries following the agreements.
