Venezuela's first remote-sensing satellite, built by a Chinese SOE, is delivered in-orbit on Sept 2, 2013
China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) delivered all facilities related to Venezuela's first remote-sensing satellite, the VRSS-1, to Venezuela after three months of in-orbit testing on Sept 2, 2013.
The VRSS-1 was lifted into space from Northwest China's Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It was the first time China had exported a remote-sensing satellite.
The satellite is mainly used in fields like communication, broadcasting, distance education, and telemedicine. It is important for Venezuela to improve its infrastructure, benefit its people in remote areas, and improve people's living standards.
World's first straight teeth rocker arm for large mining height goes into operation on Sept 2, 2013
The world's first easy-to-maintain straight teeth rocker arm for large mining height was put into operation at Shendong Daliuta 52305 coal mine on Sept 2, 2013.
Jointly manufactured by China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, which was later merged into China Energy Investment Corporation, and CSSC Heavy Equipment Corporation, the rocker arm adopted five-stage spur gear transmission, which was a first in the world.
The technology not only improved the stability, but also reduced the failure rate of the rocker arm and the labor intensity of the workers.
The rocker arm has greatly reduced the dependence of enterprises on imported coal mining equipment, and further accelerated the domestic process of underground equipment.
LNPS Phase 2 passes testing and inspection on Sept 2, 2014
The Lingao Nuclear Power Station Phase 2 (LNPS Phase 2), constructed and operated by China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN), passed testing and inspection on Sept 2, 2014.
It was the first million-kilowatt nuclear power plant completely developed by China.
China was responsible for the whole process of production and operation including engineering design, key equipment manufacturing, unit performance testing and overall launches.
Through this project, China has established and improved the technical standard system for design and construction of nuclear power of millions of kilowatts, formed a series of nuclear power industry standards, and made some patent achievements.
While promoting the serialization and standardization development of nuclear power in China, it also laid a solid foundation for the domestic independent research of a new generation of nuclear power technology.
