Construction of the Russian section of the China-Russia East-Route Natural Gas Pipeline, dubbed "Power of Siberia", started on Sept 1, 2014.

The trans-border natural gas pipeline project was a major result of strategic energy cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese side is responsible for construction of transmission pipeline and supporting facilities for gas storage in China.

Main natural gas markets like northeastern China, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Yangtze River Delta region will be connected with Russian natural gas resources when the project is completed, gaining a stable supply of clean and high-quality natural gas.

It is estimated that more than 160 million tons of emissions including carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide could be reduced annually with use of the natural gas supply.

CAPF Hydropower Force is decommissioned and becomes a state-owned enterprise on Sept 1, 2018

The Chinese Armed Police Force (CAPF) Hydropower Force was decommissioned on Sept 1, 2018.

The force used to be mainly responsible for emergent danger removal and device repair and construction of water conservancy and hydropower facilities like river dams, reservoirs, hydropower stations, transformer substations and electric transmission lines damaged by natural disasters, terrorist attack and wars.

According to the plan for deepening the reform of Party and state institutions, the force turned from an actual force into an inactive group and is now under management by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) as a state-owned enterprise.

It continues to use the name of "China Anneng Construction Group Corporation Limited" and still applies professional technical skills in shouldering water conservancy and hydropower construction projects.
