Shenyang-Dalian Expressway expansion is completed on August 29, 2004

Expansion of the Shenyang-Dalian Expressway, China's first highway, was completed and opened to traffic on August 29, 2004.

The eight-lane highway was China's longest with the highest standards at that time, and was comparable to highways in developed countries.

The road was contracted by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and about 130,000 to 150,000 vehicles use it every day, six times more than before the expansion.

The VSC-HVDC unit of Luxi back-to-back direct current project is completed and starts operation on August 29, 2016

The voltage source converter based on a high voltage direct current (VSC-HVDC) unit of the Luxi back-to-back direct current project was completed and started operation on August 29, 2016.

The project, based in Southwest China's Yunnan province, is a VSC-HVDC program. It has the world's highest voltage and largest transmission capacity.

Many enterprises including State Grid Corporation of China and China XD Group contributed to the project.

The project has a 100 percent comprehensive construction autonomation rate and set many world records, solving several international difficulties in hardware and complicated calculating.

The operation is proof that China has completely mastered key technologies of VSC-HVDC such as design, manufacturing, testing and on-site adjustment of the converter valve. The technologies are world leading.

Research and development of the complete Lyocell fiber industrialization technology with an annual 15,000-ton production capacity passed appraisal on August 29, 2017.

The project was developed by China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd and has complete proprietary intellectual property rights.

With China-made production equipment, the technology was the biggest development in China's textile industry for the past 18 years.

Products made through the technology have the same quality as internationally produced products of the same kind.

The development of the technology has promoted China's textile industry.
