The main body of Optics Valley Square in Wuhan, Hubei Province was capped on August 25, 2017.

Constructed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the project is the largest and most complicated traffic complex in the world.

The total building area of the project is 160,000 sq m. It includes three storeys underground where three subway lines, two municipal roads as well as public space are integrated.

The underground space equals 20 standard subway stations and the depth of the foundation pit equals the height of a more than ten-storey building.

The center area has nearly 2,000 drilled pillars, which is 40 times the number in a common residence.

Many engineering and construction technologies were used for the first time in China during the construction.

The square will become the most beautiful underground municipal complex in the country with transparent underground space, a round green square, an ecological park and entrances and exits of different colors.
