Silt cleaning project of Huangbai River in Hubei
A tributary of the Yangtze River in Yichang of Central China's Hubei province, the Huangbai River is a main water source of the city, supplying drinking water for nearly 2 million residences and guaranteeing agricultural irrigation of 1 million mu (66,666.67 hectares) of farming land.
However, the river's serious pollution impacted water safety.
Therefore, the China Metallurgical Geology Bureau started a silt cleaning project to recover and protect the local ecosystem, which was a significant promotion of the Yangtze River protection project.
