Qianjin-Fuyuan railway, China's easternmost, was completed on August 19, 2012.
Constructed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the railway starts from Qianjin county, Tongjiang and terminates at Fuyuan town. Both are in Heilongjiang Province.
The railway is 169.4 kilometers long and has a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
It connects with railways in neighboring provinces within China and gives access to the Sea of Japan areas in the east and international economic and trade shipping routes in Russia in the north, playing a significant role in economic and trade ties between northeastern China regions and the Northeastern Asian countries and promotion of China-Russia strategic cooperation in economy, trades and technology fields.

The world's first dual mode Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) for coal shafts passed inspection on August 19, 2013.
The machine was jointly developed by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, the latter was later merged into China Energy Investment Corporation.
The 238-meter machine has a 7.62-meter diameter and weighs more than 1,200 tons.
In addition, it integrates various functions such as excavation, lining, deslagging, and transportation, as well as ventilating and draining.
Its development was the first in long-distance heavy grade inclined shaft construction with full-face TBM and was proof that China's modern tunneling machines had reached the internationally leading level.
The last Rio Olympics electric multiple unit (EMU) is completed on August 19, 2015
The last of 100 electric multiple unit (EMU) for the Rio Olympics rolled off the production line at CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of CRRC Corporation Limited, on August 19, 2015.
The EMUs, with four cars in each group, can be operated as fast as 100 kilometers per hour and have a longitudinal compression load of 363 tons.
The EMUs were operated on five main railway lines in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and passed the opening ceremony venue of the Olympics.
It was the first time China-made railway transportation equipment was used in an Olympic Games overseas.
