Sulphidation diesel hydrogenation catalyst FDS-2 passes its first industrial application test and produces diesel to "China V" emission standards on August 13, 2013
Sulphidation diesel hydrogenation catalyst FDS-2 passed its first industrial application test and produced diesel to "China V" emission standards (Chinese emission standards) at Changqing Petrochemical Branch Company, a branch of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), on August 13, 2013.
It was CNPC's first diesel hydrogenation catalyst to that standard with proprietary intellectual property rights.
Its development is proof of China's progress in a whole chain of industrial technologies with low costs.
The development of FDS-2 required ten years of joint research.
The catalyst has excellent performance, with a desulfurization rate of 99.3 percent and a denitrification rate of 98.2 percent.
The test showed the significant progress in oil refining catalyst development and its industrial application in China.
