DIAN KE 1, China's first combined marine information equipment test ship, was delivered to its buyer on August 11, 2016.

The long-forecastle ship has a wide experiment deck and is equipped with a large-scale heavy lit, an A rack and a helicopter platform.

Manufactured by China Electronic Technology Group Corporation (CETC), the ship is able to conduct all kinds of tests for electronic devices such as radars, drones, unmanned boats and other equipment, as well as work in underwater sound and meteorological exploration.

In addition, it can also satisfy various needs in transportation of experimental equipment and scientific research personnel as well as material replenishment on islands.

The ship has overcome shortcomings such as poor performances by electronic equipment, slow data processing and long test period requirements.

World's highest 500kV substation goes into service on August 11, 2018

The main unit of the Markham 500kV substation was connected to the grid on August 11, 2018, bringing the world's highest power transmission and transformation project with the largest altitude span into service.

Located at 4,376-meter high Markham in the Tibet Autonomous Region, and with the complicated natural conditions, the project was built by State Grid Corporation of China.

Its operation improved the Tibet power grid to the 500kV level from 220kV, taking the region into the 500kV ultrahigh pressure era.

The completed project has promoted exploration and export of the region's water, wind and solar energies and played a significant role in improving livelihoods and vitalizing the area as well as strengthening national unity and border defense.
