Wangdong Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Anhui Province is connected on August 10, 2016
The two sides of the Wangdong Yangtze River Highway Bridge in Anhui Province, the world's longest-span superposed beam cable-stayed steel bridge, were connected on August 10, 2016.
Contracted by China Communications Construction Company Limited, the bridge was the first expressway bridge integrating highway, bridge and a tunnel in the province.
As the most convenient cross-river pathway of the National Highway G35, the bridge is also a major passage linking Beijing and Shandong and Henan provinces with Jiangxi, Fujian and Guangdong provinces.
The bridge promotes connectivity between eastern and western China and plays an important role in Anhui Province's participation in the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
China makes breakthrough in upstream industry of panel display
Two core products with propriety intellectual property rights were released by the National Engineering Laboratory of Caihong Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Electronic Technology Group Corporation, on August 10, 2016, both of them were proof of China's breakthroughs in glass substrate for panel display and cover glass industries.
One was a fruit of China's first G8.5 liquid crystal glass substrate elaborate processing production line and the other was the internationally leading high-aluminum cover glass made with an overflow method.
The new inventions accelerated research and development and industrialization of key technologies and equipment in the display field in China.
The production also meant that the country was able to make its own core materials for the panel display industry instead of imports.
