The two sides of the Yongjiang River Bridge, the world's longest-span steel box hybrid beam cable-stayed railway bridge, were connected on August 5, 2014.

It was the first bridge built with such a structure in China.

Contracted by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, the 14.95-kilometer bridge is the longest bridge of the northern circuit line of the Ningbo railway junction.

The main part of the bridge is a 909.1-meter double-track cable-stayed railway crossing with 177.91-meter high cable towers.

The bridge has a main span of 468 meters, and meets requirements for flood control and transit of 3,000-ton ocean-going vessels.

Construction of Zhen'an pumped storage hydropower plant in Shaanxi Province, the first of its kind in northwestern China, starts on August 5, 2016

Construction of Zhen'an pumped storage hydropower plant in Shaanxi Province, the first of its kind in northwestern China, started on August 5, 2016.

Contracted by State Grid Corporation of China, the plant has a gross installed capacity of 1.4 million kilowatts and four 350,000-kilowatt reversible pump hydro-generator sets.

The project is expected to be completed in 2023.

One of the major projects of China's 12th Five Year Plan (2011-15) for renewable energy resources, the plant will greatly improve peak load capacity and meet Shaanxi's power grid requirements for new electrical energy.

It will also play a significant role in building a clean and effective energy system and improving living conditions in poverty-stricken areas in Shaanxi Province.
