A 37,500-cubic meter capacity ethylene (LEG) carrier was delivered to its buyer, Navigator Gas in the United Kingdom, on August 2, 2016.

Self-developed, designed and built by Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited, the LEG carrier has the largest tank volume for ships of its type in the world.

The semi-pressurized and semi-refrigerated ship is equipped with one of the three of the world's largest Type C double-eared fluid containers.

It has a designed temperature of minus 104 degrees and can carry various kinds of liquefied and chemical gases.

In addition, it has a VS-BOW and is installed with "CAPRO", a propulsion energy-saving device, and a double fuel power system.

China's first large-diameter outer space solid engine passes ignition test on August 2, 2016

China's first large-diameter outer space solid engine passed an ignition test on August 2, 2016.

Manufactured by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the engine has a three-meter diameter and a maximum thrust of 150 tons.

It was then China's most powerful solid rocket engine with the largest diameter and longest working capacity.

Solid engines are able to adjust thrust according to the amount of fuel and are used as parts of large heavy rockets' boosters.

The success of the ignition test confirmed that China has mastered key technologies to manufacture booster engine for large rockets, meaning the country has entered a new stage in the spacecraft industry.
