Construction of Tanzania Zambia Railway, dubbed "China-Africa Friendship Railway", is completed on July 14, 1976

Construction of the Tanzania Zambia Railway, dubbed the“China-Africa Friendship Railway”, was completed on July 14, 1976.

The 1860.5-kilometer railway is also called the "Uhuru Railway" in Central Africa.

Many Chinese central SOEs including China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, China Railway Group Limited, CRRC Corporation Limited and China Railway Signal & Communication Co., Ltd. participated in the construction, undertaking work such as railway surveys, design, construction, vehicle supply, technical assistance and other matters.

About 56,000 engineering and technical personnel and nearly 3,000 experts in various fields were sent to the project and more than one million tons of various construction materials were delivered.

For over 50 years, the railway has carried more than 30 million tons of goods and over 40 million passengers. It continues to play an important role in development of the national economies of Tanzania and affected countries.

A total of 69 Chinese experts, technicians and workers are buried at the Chinese Experts Assisting Tanzania Cemetery in Tanzania.

Maiden flight of Y-12 multi-role transport aircraft succeeds on July 14, 1982

The Y-12 multi-role transport aircraft succeeded on its maiden flight on July 14, 1982.

Developed by Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd, the Y-12 began to be exported in 1986, which was the start of Chinese civil aircraft sales in other countries.

The Y-12 series aircraft obtained certification in 14 countries including China, Britain, the United States, France and Russia.

It is currently the only civil aircraft with a "passport" from developed countries.

The recognition promoted the establishment of China's airworthiness standard and advanced the development of airworthiness verification technology and the airworthiness management level of domestic civil aircraft.
