Xiluodu Hydroelectric Power Plant and Xiangjiaba Hydroelectric Power Plant come on-line on July 10, 2014

Two power plants developed, constructed, operated and managed by China Three Gorges Corporation, Xiluodu Hydroelectric Power Plant and Xiangjiaba Hydroelectric Power Plant, began operations on July 10, 2014.

Xiluodu Hydroelectric Power Plant is the world's third and China's second largest hydropower plant. It is also the largest one over the Jinsha River.

Xiangjiaba Hydroelectric Power Plant is China's third largest hydropower station and the last among power plants of downstream areas of the Jinsha River.

Both plants are backbone power supply points for China's "West-to-East Electricity Transmission" project.

The total installed capacity of the two plants is 20.26 million kW and the annual average power generating capacity is 88 billion kWh, which equals the power generated by the Three Gorges Hydropower Power Station.

First phase of the Yining-Horgos coal gas pipeline project of China National Petroleum Corporation goes into operation on July 10, 2013

The first phase of the Yining-Horgos coal gas pipeline project of China National Petroleum Corporation opened on July 10, 2013.

It was China's first large-diameter coal gas export pipeline and the first one in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

The 64-kilometer pipeline starts from Yining, connects with pipelines constructed by many coal gas enterprises, and terminates at Horgos.

A total of 30 billion cubic meters of gas is transmitted through the pipe each year.

The pipeline project maximizes Xinjiang's superior resources to economic advantage.

In addition, it diversifies and networks the gas transmission system in western regions, which balances the supply and demand relations between east and west and promotes regional economic growth.
