Ansteel Group starts operation on July 9, 1949

Ansteel Group started operation on July 9, 1949. The company later underwent large-scale infrastructure installation and technical restructuring.

Ansteel Group was the first large-scale iron and steel complex initiated after the founding of the People's Republic of China.

As the earliest-constructed iron and steel production base in China, the enterprise has contributed greatly to the country's economic growth and development of its iron and steel industry.

Ansteel Group has been called the "cradle of China's iron and steel industry" and its "firstborn".

Today, the group has evolved into the largest rail and ship manufacturer and titanium material and titanium dioxide producer in China. It is also the world's largest exporter of titanium, shipping to more than 60 countries and regions.

ASEAN Manufacturing Center of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. is established on July 9, 2015

The ASEAN Manufacturing Center of CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd., China's first overseas railway equipment manufacturing base, was established on July 9, 2015.

Located in Malaysia, the center made that country the first in ASEAN to have the capacity to manufacture railway transportation equipment.

The center has the most advanced technology and the strongest production capacity of railway equipment manufacturing anywhere in the ten ASEAN member countries.

One hundred electric multiple unit (EMU) trains can be manufactured per year at the center which can also produce other types of railway transportation equipment like electric locomotives and light rail vehicles.

The operation of the center fulfilled CRRC's goal of transforming from a product exporter to an integrated "products-technology-service-investment" enterprise.

"BLUE WHALE 1" completed its mission in China's first test exploration for combustible ice in the South China Sea on July 9, 2016.

The test proceeded well for 60 consecutive days and produced more than 300,000 cubic meters of combustible ice, which set world records for the longest production time and the most gas produced.

Many China-made devices and facilities are being put to use in China's combustible ice development in the South China Sea.

Developed by China International Marine Containers (Group) Ltd. "BLUE WHALE 1" is the most significant equipment in test exploration and is currently the largest offshore drilling platform with the deepest drill depth in the world.
