China's first electric multiple unit (EMU) train exported to Europe was completed and ready for operation on July 7, 2015.

Manufactured by CRRC Corporation Limited (CRRC), it was China's first EMU train exported to Europe and the first one manufactured to European Technical Specification for Interoperability (TSI) standards.

China and the Republic of Macedonia signed the EMU deal in June 2014 and it took only one year for the train to be delivered and ready for service.

The normal manufacturing period of an EMU train is 36 months, a period CRRC bettered with a new record.

The train now runs on the busiest railway in Macedonia which is about 215 kilometers' long.

The railway passes Skopje, capital of Macedonia, and connects the south of Serbia with Greece.
