The 500 kV transmission network project in Hainan province goes into operation on June 30, 2009

The 500 kV transmission network project in Hainan province, the first extra high voltage (EHV), long distance and large capacity cross-sea electricity transmission program in China, went into operation on June 30, 2009.

The project connects Hainan's power grid with the main grid of China Southern Power Grid.

The project was also Asia's first and the world's second cross-sea power transmission construction with EHV, long distance and large transmission capacity.

It contributes to improving Hainan's power supply quality and safety and the reliability of the power grid operation.

In addition, the project optimized the allocation of resources, increased usage of hydroelectric and thermal power generators and improved the economical performance of the power grid.

Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway is completed on June 30, 2011

The 1,318-kilometer railway, with a highest speed of 350 kilometers per hour, is still the most-invested construction project since the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Its engineering techniques, quality and management have reached a global advanced level and set the standards and technical systems of China's high-speed railways.

The construction and opening of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway played a significant role in China's economic and social development.

Many Chinese central SOEs including CRRC Corporation Limited, China Railway Signal & Communication Co., Ltd., China Railway Group Limited, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China Communications Construction Company Limited, China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd., China Huadian Corporation Ltd, China Railway Materials Company Limited and China General Technology (Group) Holding Co., Ltd participated in the construction of the railway.

Soubre Hydroelectric Power Station, the largest hydropower plant in Cote d'Ivoire, starts generating electricity on June 30, 2017

The first generator unit of Soubre Hydroelectric Power Station - the largest hydropower plant in Cote d'Ivoire - went into service on June 30, 2017.

The highest dam of the station is 20 meters and spans 4.5 kilometers. Its reservoir is able to hold as much as 83 million cubic meters of water.

The installed gross capacity of the station is 275,000 kW.

The station has provided nearly 5,000 jobs for local people and infrastructure like hospitals and schools were also built.

The project has improved Cote d'Ivoire's electrical energy structure which mainly relies on thermal power, and made a great contribution to the local tourism industry, driving regional economic growth.
