The pilot of China's manned deep-sea submersible Jiaolong and an astronaut on the Shenzhou-9 spacecraft had a sea-heaven conversation on June 24, 2012.

Just before the conversation the Jiaolong sub had completed its 7,020-meter diving mission and Shenzhou-9 had docked with Tiangong-1, China's first space lab, both setting records.

Built by Chinese central SOEs including China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, Jiaolong was the first operational deep sea manned submersible independently designed and developed by China and provided the best diving capabilities in the world.

Shenzhou-9, generally developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, is a part of China's Space Program.
