Belgium's Kieldrecht lock - the world's largest - went into operation on June 10, 2016.
Built by Zhenhua Port Machinery Company Limited, a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company Limited, the lock was part of the second phase of the Port of Antwerp project.
It is 500 meters long and 68 meters wide, and contains four single 2,500-ton gates, two 70-meter lock-unlock steel bridges and signal masts. The entire weight of the steel structure is 11,700 tons.
Zhenhua Port Machinery Company Limited is the world's largest port machinery heavy equipment manufacturer and its container wharf bridges and transtainer facilities are used in 101 countries and regions, occupying more than 70 percent of the global market in this field.
