China-Kazakhstan cross-border transportation starts on June 8, 2016

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev attended the opening ceremony for China-Kazakhstan Asia-Europe cross-border transportation cooperation on June 8, 2017.

Four trains departed from two venues - the China-Kazakhstan Lianyungang Logistics Cooperation Center and the Economic Special Zone of Khorgos Dry Port - in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region bordering Kazakhstan, marking the beginning of the venture.

Logistics cooperation between the two countries integrated advances of ports, aerial and railway transportation and supported trade along the Belt and Road and the Maritime Silk Road.

Many Chinese central SOEs, such as China COSCO SHIPPING Corporation Limited, CRRC Corporation Limited, China Railway Group Limited and China Railway Construction Corporation Limited played key roles in the cross-border transportation project.

CRRC was an A+H listed enterprise merged from the previous China CNR Corporation Limited and China CSR Corporation Limited under the principle of equivalence.

The company obtained all business and capital of the previous two companies and currently has 46 branches.

It is the largest rail transport equipment supplier with the most types of devices and advanced technologies in the world.

In addition, CRRC also established world-leading product and technology platforms and manufacturing bases of rail transit equipment. The high-speed trains have become a main symbol of the company to the world.
