China establishes its first automobile AI laboratory on June 3, 2017
FAW Group Co., Ltd. (FAW) and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) jointly launched an automobile AI laboratory on June 3, 2017. It was the first of its kind in China and promoted the development of the smart car industry.
The laboratory integrates the FAW's strategic capacity for science and technology innovation and the high-tech competitiveness of UESTC and focuses on research and development of a new generation of cars with a high degree of intelligence and internet connectivity.
In addition, the lab is intended to cultivate talents in the smart car field and to independently develop core technologies.
It aims to evolve into an international research and development platform.
China succeeds in industrialization of green non-phosphorus polymerization technology on June 3, 2017
The project of producing 200,000 tons of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) per year through non-phosphorus polymerization technology achieved success on June 3, 2017, producing a high-quality 1500E type of rubber.
Led by China National Petroleum Corporation, the project's achievement also signaled success for SBR industrialization with China-created green non-phosphorus polymerization technology. In addition it confirmed that China's environmentally friendly SBR production technology had reached a world-leading level.
The technology solved the problem of phosphorus wastewater treatment at its base by realizing zero discharge of the chemical.
The success of the industrialization test largely reduced the operation cost of SBR production facilities and made it possible to produce 200,000 tons of SBR. It was also beneficial to transformation and upgrading of China's synthetic rubber industry.
