Line C of the China-Central Asia gas pipeline goes into service on May 31, 2014

Line C of the China-Central Asia gas pipeline, constructed by China National Petroleum Corporation and Central Asian partners, went into service on May 31, 2014.

It was a main achievement of the cooperation between China and Central Asian countries and an international project benefiting all participants.

The pipeline is able to transfer a total of 55 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, which can satisfy one fifth of China's natural gas demand.

The main sources of the natural gas are Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The project changed the supply patterns of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, brought large-scale investment and created nearly a thousand jobs for local people. 

The first overseas China standard-international railway opens on May 31, 2017

The Mombasa-Nairobi Railway, the first international railway built to Chinese standards, opened on May 31, 2017.

The railroad was built and is operated and maintained by China Communications Construction Company Limited.

The 480-kilometer railway was the first modern railway constructed to Chinese standards with Chinese techniques and equipment and was China's first overseas international railroad meeting those standards in operations and maintenance.

The opening of the railway confirmed that China-made railway equipment and related industries had gone global.

The railway was destined to expand in countries like Uganda and Rwanda in the future.

Also participating in the construction were Ansteel Group which provided nearly 50,000 tons of steel for the rail line, China Railway Construction Corporation Limited were responsible for supplying the railway switches and China Energy Engineering Group Co., Ltd. which joined in the design of the railway's power supply project.

In addition, CRRC Corporation Limited was the supplier of the train cars.
