More than 150 kilograms of green vegetables were delivered to China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy)'s energy subsidiary in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on May 5.
The fresh vegetables were purchased from Chagansu village of Ulan Mulun county, the company's targeted poverty-alleviation area.
After investigation in the area and discussion with the local committee, the company decided to promote green agriculture. It invested in construction of 10 vegetable greenhouses in the village which began production in December 2019.
The greenhouses are expected to provide about 400,000 yuan ($56,026.33) of income annually for the village.
In addition to the income, the company also purchased vegetables from the village at the market price, which helped solved marketing difficulties.
