Critical anti-pandemic medical supplies provided by SDIC Mining, a subsidiary of State Development and Investment Corp. (SDIC), arrived in Amman, capital of Jordan, on April 22.
The supplies included 60,000 surgical N95 masks, 5,000 medical protective gowns, 5,000 pairs of goggles and 5,000 protective masks and were given to the Jordanian Ministry of Health.
Protective materials that SDIC Mining helped Arab Potash Company (APC) purchase for the ministry were transported in the same shipment.
Jamal Al Sarayrah, former first deputy prime minister of Jordan and chairman of APC, said in an interview that the donation demonstrated the profound friendship between China and Jordan. People from two countries helped and supported each other and shared common trials and hardships together.
SDIC has closely followed developments of the pandemic in Jordan since mid-March of this year.
In early April, SDIC Mining ordered the medical materials from Sinopharm Group which developed and provided a large amount of high-quality medical supplies during the COVID-19 outbreak in China.
The company also worked closely with relevant government departments and enterprises to efficiently complete such work as domestic transportation, special airplane arrangements, customs declaration and inspections to ensure in-time transport.
