CETC Boosts New Infrastructure Construction with Information Technology

China Electronic Technology Group Corporation (CETC), as a part of China's information technology industry, has fulfilled its role in the country's new infrastructure construction.

It has also strengthened its deployment in the field since the need to speed up infrastructure construction of 5G networks and data centers was recognized in early March.

Contributing to anti-pandemic battle with digitalized methods

During the COVID-19 outbreak, CETC played an indispensable role in fighting against the novel coronavirus, helping enterprises resume production and promoting economic and social development.

At the early stage of the pandemic, the company launched a special team of nearly 200 employees to develop a big data system for pandemic prevention and control and resumption of production. It also deployed a close contact screener. So far, the system and device have been used by more than 1.6 billion people and more than 4,000 enterprises and departments.

The company also analyzed pandemic predictions and made more than 650 reports which helped related government departments with policy decisions.

In addition, the company's methods were also used in construction of the Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospitals.

Accelerating construction of new generation information infrastructure

CETC set its goal of building and operating the new generation information infrastructure and proposed its idea of "objects connection, data connection and people connection" as early as in 2018, when it promoted a new-type of urban internet of things to be modeled in Jiading district of Shanghai.

The new generation information infrastructure construction is intended to bring together isolated islands of information and build a big data-based service platform to realize such additional applications as perception, transmission, storage, development and artificial intelligence and help the government to offer more valuable services to the public.

CETC released its new generation information infrastructure platform at the 6th World Internet Conference in October 2019.

Closely following a human-centered concept, the platform has an integrated system of "objects connection, data connection and people connection" and is an ecological community of public service, winning it confirmation from all parts of society.

The company will continue to build its smart systems to promote development of China's internet, digitalization and intelligentization.

Promoting new infrastructure construction in all aspects

CETC will promote the new infrastructure construction in various ways.

For example, the social management information platform developed by the company is now in operation. It is a core information project of the construction of the China (Hainan) Pilot Free Trade Zone and the free trade port with Chinese characteristics.

It will also promote the new type of smart city construction and form smart environmental protection systems in Shenzhen of South China's Guangdong province, Jiaxing of East China's Zhejiang province and Fuzhou of Fujian province.

In terms of public service, CETC has developed different platforms for the government and enterprises. Key components, parameter instruments, integrated circuits and smart manufacturing related to 5G technology are also a main part of CETC's plan.

Cyber security cannot be ignored. CETC has established a domestically-made hardware-based service for operating, sharing and managing data as well as a security cloud service system.

CETC has also built a smart civil airline industrial chain involving a 5G network, data center and AI construction based on the civil airline network to promote export of such civil aviation equipment as telecommunication, navigation, monitoring and meteorological devices.

The system has been used in air traffic management integration at the Beijing Daxing International Airport and the East African Community.

The company is also working on a system integrating rail traffic networks, products, standards and service to form a fully-automated smart urban rail transit pattern and accelerate upgrading of relevant products.
