Xiang'an Tunnel, the first domestically developed undersea tunnel in the Chinese mainland, opened on April 26, 2010. It has the world's largest undersea section.
Many Chinese central state-owned enterprises, such as China Railway Group Limited and China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, participated in the tunnel's construction.
The passage was completely developed domestically, from design to construction, which was a milestone for China.
The tunnel has the highest level of corrosion resistance and waterproof performance and can withstand a magnitude-8 earthquake.
China's largest ecological rehabilitation project of waste landfill starts on April 26, 2018
The ecological rehabilitation project of the Changshengqiao sanitary landfill plant, which is the largest of its kind in China, began on April 26, 2018.
The project was intended to build the landfill into an eco theme park and realize recycling of urban land.
With rapid urbanization, a large number of sanitary plants in China will close within ten years. The Changshengqiao ecological rehabilitation project offers a model for the future of sanitary landfills.
