The first 900-ton box girder made in China is set for use in construction of Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway on April 20, 2006

China's first 900-ton box girder was produced for the construction of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway on April 20, 2006. The railway was China's first high-speed railroad and was contracted by China Railway Construction Corporation Limited.

Twelve core technologies were developed during the construction including the 900-ton box girder and the first ballastless track board, which improved technical standards of China's high-speed construction and supported export of China's high-speed railway construction technology.

Trough solar-thermal power station with the world's largest unit capacity goes into operation on April 20, 2018

The second phase of the Noor Power Station in Morocco, contracted by Power Construction Corporation of China was completed on April 20, 2018.

The project is a trough solar-thermal power plant with the largest unit capacity in the world.

Both the second and third phases of the project, the 200 megawatts trough solar-thermal power station and the 150 megawatts solar power tower, adopted the most advanced power generation technology in the world.

The plant avoided the problems of traditional solar power plants such as low efficiency and lack of power generation after sunset and became a long lifespan power station without polluting emissions.

It was the start of China's solar industrial development in North Africa.

The world's thinnest touch-screen glass is produced by China National Building Materials Group Co Ltd on April 20, 2018

China National Building Materials Group Co Ltd successfully produced 0.12-millimeter ultrathin electronic touch-screen glass on April 20, 2018. It was the thinnest glass in the world produced through the flotation method.

Its production marked that the comprehensive glass production technology of the company had reached an internationally leading level, which improved the competitiveness of China's glass industry in the world and broke the technical and trade barriers of other countries.
