China Datang Corporation Ltd. has always focused on projects supporting poverty alleviation and helped market agricultural products in poor areas; even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.
Since the beginning of 2020, the company has purchased agricultural products valued at more than 3.26 million yuan ($461,305.52). Meanwhile, it has helped poor areas sell such products, creating gross income of 1.87 million yuan.
A "company + base + cooperative +poor household + market" production-sales mode has been adopted at the company's target poverty alleviation area – Dahua County in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region - which strongly supports poverty alleviation in the county.
During the pandemic outbreak, the Guangxi branch of China Datang Corporation purchased more than 23,000 eggs, nearly 250 kg of lotus root powder and over 1,600 kg of local oranges.
So far, the company has consumed poverty alleviation goods valued at 1.7 million yuan with nearly 600,000 yuan used to purchase agricultural products since the pandemic broke out.
It also helped sell agricultural goods valued more than 1.11 million yuan, relieving the problem of unsalable goods.
A similar mode was also taken in other counties to help poverty alleviation.
China Datang Corporation's subsidiaries bought more than 3,400 boxes of pears grown in Weixian county in Hebei province and purchased varieties of agricultural goods including chicken, ducks, pork, rice, flour, oil and vegetables in Sichuan province.
The Yunnan branch of China Datang Corporation joined hands with local e-commerce platforms to help move unsalable goods in the province's Huaping county, which lessened the pandemic's impact.
