Construction of the first overseas major project by China's Enterprise Consortium started on April 3, 2018.

The consortium consists of China Railway Construction Corporation Limited, China Railway Group Limited and China Communications Construction Company Ltd. The project was the construction of a railway in South Malaysia.

The length of the target building rail is 192 kilometers, valued at 14.4 billion yuan ($2.14 billion).

It was the first large scale infrastructure construction integrating various resources operated by China-invested enterprises and the first time Chinese SOEs won a bid as a consortium.

The consortium is in charge of design, construction, installation, testing, pilot operation and maintenance. The bidding experience is a successful example for the internationalization of Chinese enterprises and the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.

Chinese central SOE helps first EHV transformer in Middle East and North Africa begin operation on April 3, 2018

XD-EGEMAC Corporation, a joint venture of Chinese central SOE China XD Group Co., Ltd. and Egypt's EGEMAC announced that the first 500kV EHV transformer in the Middle East and North Africa went into service on April 3, 2018. The equipment was jointly invested in and established by the two companies.

Egypt thus became the first country in the region with the capacity to manufacture EHV transformers and gas-insulated metal-enclosed switch-gear.

The successful operation of the transformer was made possible by the export chain of "Chinese technology + Chinese standards + Chinese equipment + Chinese construction".
