China's first space lab, Tiangong-1, completes its mission and returns to Earth on April 2, 2018

China's first space lab, Tiangong-1, completed its mission and returned to Earth on April 2, 2018. Most of the components of Tiangong-1 were destroyed when it dropped through the atmosphere.

Tiangong-1 was China's space lab. Its development and construction was led by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation.

Tiangong-1 made China the third country to independently master the technologies of manned space transportation, space extravehicular activity and space rendezvous and docking.

China's first 30,000-ton heavy-haul train passes operational test on April 2, 2014

China's first 30,000-ton heavy-haul train passed an operational test on April 2, 2014, marking an increase in traction weight of heavy-haul freight transport from 20,000 tons to 30,000 tons.

The test train was developed by China South Railway which is now integrated with China North Railway as CRRC Corporation Limited.

The total length of the train is 3,971 meters. It features four electric locomotive tractors and 320 cars.

The breakthrough is a milestone in China's history of heavy-haul railway transport. China is one of the few countries in the world with heavy-haul transport technology.
