Updated: 2020-04-01

China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. (CGGC) signed the 1GW Egridir pumped-storage power station project, valued at $1.5 billion, in Ankara, Turkey on March 25.

It was a result of the company's strategy to promote globalization of the high-quality hydropower industry.

Located about 25 kilometers northeast of the capital of Isparta, the project has an installed capacity of 4×250 MW.

The company is responsible for design, supply, engineering, installation and adjustment of the project, as well as its trial operation.

It will be the first pumped-storage power project in Turkey and is expected to be completed within 75 months.

Upon completion, the station will contribute to meeting the peak load requirements of the regional power system.
