China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited is established on April 1, 1928

China Travel Service (Hong Kong) Limited, the predecessor of China National Travel Service (HK) Group Corporation, was founded on April 1, 1928.

Its establishment greatly promoted China's finance and tourism industries development.

For the past 90 years, the company has formed an industrial pattern integrating various tourism-related fields in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan as well as many other countries and regions.

It is now China's largest central SOE in the tourism field.

The Second Automobile Manufacturing Factory opened in Shiyan, Hubei province, on April 1, 1967.

The factory was the predecessor of Dongfeng Motor Cooperation. It was the first large scale comprehensive automobile manufacturing factory designed and built by China independently.

Many new technologies, advanced equipment, new materials and processes were adopted by the factory.

World's highest ferris wheel built by China's central SOE enters service on April 1, 2014, in Las Vegas, the US

High Roller, the world's highest ferris wheel, went into service on April 1, 2014, in Las Vegas, the US.

The project was contracted by China Communications Construction Company Ltd and all the steel structures were provided by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy.

High Rollers is 167.64 meters high and can overlook the full view of Las Vegas at the peak. It features 28 ball-shaped glass cabins which replaced the traditional gliders. A total of 1,120 passengers can be held at the same time.

Algeria's first communications satellite -- the Alcomsat-1 -- was developed and built by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation and was launched into a preset orbit from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in the Southwest province of Sichuan on Dec 11, 2017.

The satellite is mainly used for broadcast and television, emergency communication, distance education, e-governance, enterprise communication, broadband access and satellite-based navigation in Algeria.
