The 2*1050 MW Java-7 Coal-Fired Power Plant Project in Indonesia, which has the largest individual installed capacity among Chinese overseas projects, had operated safely for 100 days by March 20.
It is a highly efficient and environmentally friendly power plant with the largest installed capacity, the highest parameters, the most advanced technologies and the best index performances in the country.
Its No. 1 generator unit has performed well since it went into operation. To date, it has produced about 1.53 billion kWh of electricity which generated about 52.5 million yuan ($7.42 million) in profit and 13 million yuan in taxation.
The plant is highly regarded by the Indonesian power industry.
Zulkifli Zaini, CEO of state-owned power producer PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), inspected the plant on Feb 29, saying that the project has raised power stability in Java and especially in the Bali Islands to the basic level.
The ultra-supercritical power generation technology used in the Java-7 project will be a model in Indonesia's power industry.
Relying on its advanced technology and leading cost advantage, the Java plant will create great value and effectiveness and PLN, as well as other power producers in the country, could learn its advanced effective engineering and modes of operation and management.
Invested and built by Guohua Power, a subsidiary of China Energy Investment Corporation (China Energy), the plant has proprietary intellectual property rights and forms an energy matrix with another two electric power plants the company built in Indonesia to help promote the country's economic growth.
China Energy's project offices in Indonesia set up emergency anti-epidemic teams out of concern for the development of the COVID-19 epidemic and initiated disease prevention and control plans.
During the outbreak, all power plants are reducing conferences, limiting meeting participation and increasing storage of emergency production, livelihood and anti-epidemic materials. Regular disinfectant is also carried out in public areas.
The Java project department also made regulations limiting entry and exit at the plant and requiring testing of all employees.
Guohua Power's department in South Sumatra's plant has continued to improve performance of the coal scuttle, protection board and grate. On Feb 29, the plant produced 9,247 tons of coal, the highest daily output this year.
By March 23, the No. 1 generator unit of the plant had operated safely for a record of 1065 continuous days and the No. 2 unit for 432 days. By March 17 the plant had generated 322 million kWh of power, a year on year growth of 9.9 percent.
