China's largest overseas metal mining project transports its first batch of copper on Mar 20, 2016
The first batch of copper concentrate from Las Bambas copper mine in Peru arrived at Nanjing Port on Mar 20, 2016.
The construction of Las Bambas copper mine in Peru was jointly invested by Chinese central SOEs such as China Minmetals Corporation and China Reform Holdings Corporation Ltd. to the tune of $10.5 billion.
The successful operation of Las Bambas copper mine indicates that Chinese central SOEs have acquired the world's leading ability of constructing and operating overseas large-scale mine projects.
Las Bambas copper mine, one of the largest such mines in the world, has been estimated to have reserves of 12 million tons of copper. China's investment in Las Bambas is the largest overseas purchase in the metal mining industry's history and the mine's annual copper production is expected to reach over 450,000 tons.

The new generation of China's uranium enrichment centrifuge for commercial use, developed and produced by China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC), finished construction on Mar 20, 2018, a sign of upgrading of China’s uranium enrichment centrifuge development.
China owns completely independent intellectual property rights for the construction, and the project's technique level and economical efficiency lead the world and are ready to be put into large-scale commercial application.
The development and industrialization of a new generation of uranium enrichment centrifuge will improve China's status and competitiveness in that area and offer solid fuel support for the country's nuclear power development.
