Sinopec Group-Supported Enterprises Capable of 2 Million Masks Per Day

A private enterprise cooperating with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) produced 1.07 million masks on March 14, the first time it has exceeded 1 million. The result was thanks to the 15 mask machines purchased by Sinopec Group.

On the same day, another enterprise to which Sinopec Group offers mask production raw materials also reached a daily output of 1.05 million masks.

That means enterprises with Sinopec Group's support are now able to produce as many as 2 million masks a day.

In addition to its own production, the company now has a mask daily output of about 34.89 million.

Sinopec Group focused on the production of materials scarce in the mask production industrial chain such as polypropylene (PP) and melt-blown fabric.

Sinopec Group produced 98,000 tons of PP medical materials in February, 33,000 tons more than in January.

The company also invested about 200 million yuan ($28.21 million) in construction of 10 melt-blown fabric production lines at its two subsidiaries Sinopec Yanshan Petrochemical Company and Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibre Co., Ltd.

The melt-blown fabric production facilities of Sinopec Yanshan Petrochemical Company are now in operation with an annual output of 14,400 tons.

Sinopec Group decided on March 10 to build six more such production lines which will be operational by the end of May.

Sinopec Group has participated in the entire industrial chain of mask production and its products are given to the government to allocate for sale. As the mask supply improves, prices will stabilize.
