China Telecom Supports COVID-19 Diagnosis, Treatment

The 5G+Cloud+AI COVID-19 smart accessory system jointly developed by China Telecommunications Corporation (China Telecom) and Shanghai-based United Imaging has played a significant role in diagnosis and treatment of the epidemic.

The system has been used in several front-line hospitals including the Huoshenshan Hospital, the Leishenshan Hospital, the Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology and its affiliated clinic Union Hospital as well as the Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University.

The system greatly improved diagnosis efficiency by accurately marking the suspected focus on the CT images uploaded to the cloud termination through AI calculating.

The system is also a platform able to intelligently adjust software parameters as well as store, calculate and analyze uploaded images.

The hospitals are connected to the special medical and health network through 5G VPDN wireless transmission which makes it easier to upload images in real time, shortens the period for CT image equipment adjustment and improves diagnosis efficiency and accuracy.
