The world's first magnetic levitation (maglev) train is launched in Shanghai on Mar 15, 2002

The world's first magnetic levitation (maglev) train was launched in Shanghai on Mar 15, 2002.

During its construction, Chinese central SOEs such as China Railway Construction Corporation Limited and China Baowu Steel Group Corporation Limited mastered the most advanced technologies from design to construction for maglev's runway tracks and acquired several technical patents.

China has also mastered the integration techniques for the maglev train system and has cultivated talents who are contributing to development of maglev transportation.
