China Energy Co., Ltd. and China Energy Engineering Group Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. recently signed an EPC contract for a waste power plant project which will consume as much as 1,500 tons of waste per day in Ukraine.
The project includes construction and design of two waste power generator units, each able to process daily 750 tons of waste to generate electricity, in the Oblast region in Kiev.
The Chinese companies are also responsible for material purchase, operation and maintenance of the units which are expected to have a total installed capacity of about 40 MW.
Valued at about $238 million, the project is planned to be completed in 36 months.
