Construction of Beijing-Xiongan Intercity High-Speed Railway starts on Feb 28, 2018

The Beijing-Xiongan Intercity High-Speed Railway, the first major infrastructure in the Xiongan New Area, started construction on Feb 28, 2018.

Many central SOEs including China Railway Group Limited (CREC), China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) and China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) participated in the project.

Starting from the Liying Station on the Beijing-Kowloon Railway and terminating at the Xiongan New Area, the 92.4-kilometer railway passes Daxing District in Beijing, the Daxing International Airport and Bazhou in Hebei Province.

It will take only 30 minutes to travel from urban Beijing to the Xiongan New Area when it opens.

The line will support the relocation of non-capital functions from Beijing and promote the coordinated development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei Province.
