Genertec Steps up Production, Keeps Overseas Projects amid Epidemic

China General Technology (Genertec) has stepped up production at home and kept overseas projects on schedule amid the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP).

Increasing production of emergency medical articles

China Meheco Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Genertec, is pulling out all stops to resume production. 

Two branches of China Meheco Topfond Pharma Co., Ltd continued production during the epidemic outbreak and can produce 2.57 tons of broad spectrum antibiotics including spiramycin and clindamycin phosphate per day and 175,000 tons of such drugs as lincomycin hydrochloride and acetylspiramycin, which are also broad spectrum antibiotics, per month.

Most other pharmaceutical subsidiaries also resumed production in succession.

Meheco had also supplied 260 tons of fabric which is enough for 1.5 million protection suits.

By Feb 13, the company had purchased 22.48 million masks, 970,000 protection suits, 2.13 million pairs of protective goggles, 6.54 million pairs of medical gloves, 710,000 pairs of medical shoe covers as well as 289 tons of disinfectant, 1.51 million bottles of no-waste disinfectant and 120,000 nucleic acid test reagents.

In addition, the company has also stored varieties of protection materials including about 100 kinds of anti-virus chemical drugs, six kinds of bio-pharmaceuticals, 108 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines and 32 types of protection articles and equipment.

CTA High-Tech Textiles Co., Ltd. of the China Textile Academy, also a subsidiary of Genertec, is participating in the anti-epidemic battle as well.

The company produced more than 20,000 meters of disposable surgical protection suit fabric on Feb 1, and now its daily output has reached more than 30,000 meters, enough for over 10,000 protection suits.

China Textile Academy Green Fibre Co., Ltd turned on full power to produce a kind of medical fiber.

Resuming production for on-schedule progress of projects

Genertec's subsidiaries have resumed production to guarantee progress in various projects.

China Xinxing Construction & Development Co., Ltd. resumed its comprehensive traffic service center project in Yanqing District in Beijing on Feb 9, the first to re-start construction of the 165 projects of that kind in the area.

One of the main construction projects for Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, the project covers 120,000 square meters.

Dalian Machine Tool Corporation resumed production on Feb 10 and has made several plans to prevent the spread of the epidemic. 

To ensure on-schedule delivery of products, the company opened a remote-telecommunication mode in which all sales and services are required to be dealt with through phones and the internet.

Harbin Measuring and Cutting Tool Group Co., Ltd. also resumed production on Feb 10 via online work.

Pushing forward resumption of overseas projects

Overseas projects of Genertec are back on track. 

China National Machinery Imp & Exp Corp. has resumed construction of the underwater cable project in Papua New Guinea after coordination with all parties including the buyer, the business affairs department at the embassy and medical teams.

Most of the project's staff members returned to the construction site earlier than scheduled to guarantee progress of the project.
