Large-scale aircraft development project approved on Feb 26, 2007

A large-scale aircraft development project was approved by the State Council on Feb 26, 2007, leading to China's establishing a limited corporation for development of large aircraft.

Large aircraft projects and the competitiveness of the aviation industry play a key role in transforming economic growth, drive technological development, improve the nation's comprehensive competitiveness and accelerate modernization

Eleven years later on Feb 26, 2018, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd. (COMAC) signed an agreement to sell 30 large-scale C919 aircraft to China Huarong Financial Leasing Co., Ltd.

So far, 28 buyers from home and abroad have placed orders for more than 800 C919s.
