New Cabin Hospital in Wuhan Delivered

The first steps of construction of a new cabin hospital in north Hankou of Wuhan, Hubei Province where the novel coronavirus pneumonia is raging started on Feb 17.

Five hundred and fifty builders took part in the construction.

Located at the Hankou North Transport Terminus in Huangpi District, Wuhan, the new cabin hospital covers 28,000 sq m and is designed with three zones which are separated by two aisles.

A total of 2,000 beds are set in the hospital, scattered in 40 wards of 50 beds. The first 1,000 beds were delivered on Feb 18 and construction of the hospital was entirely completed on Feb 19.

China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd (MBEC), a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited (CREC) contributed to the construction.

The company also participated in ward renovation projects of another three hospitals – the Wuhan Changhang Hospital, the Liyuan Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Wuhan Hospital of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.

The three projects were delivered on Feb 18 and are capable of providing about 1,200 beds.
