China National Offshore Oil Corporation launched on Feb 15, 1982

China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) was launched on Feb 15, 1982, in Beijing, which was the start of petroleum industrial transformation in China.

Later, China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) were also set up.

Establishment of the three petroleum corporations promoted transformation of the industrial management system under the framework of reform and opening up.

It also advanced upgrading of the country's management system and operation mechanisms in the petroleum industry, and pushed forward sustainable development of the oil and energy industries.

Transformer with the largest capacity and highest overhead side voltage class developed on Feb 15, 2017

The first ultra-high voltage (UHV) converter transformer with the largest capacity and highest overhead side voltage class passed trial operation on Feb 15, 2017.

Developed by China XD Group Co., Ltd., the transformer was a connection point of the UHV direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) transmission lines. It consolidated and promoted the leading advantage of China's advanced electronic equipment manufacturing skill and capacity in the UHV DC field.
