More than 8,000 tons of bean pulp was sent in early February to Central China's Hubei Province, where the fight against novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) is being waged, by China Grain Reserves Group Ltd. Company (Sinograin).
Egg output in Hubei Province ranks sixth in China and annual livestock breeding number is about 347.61 million. About 3,000 tons of feedstuff, including 1,800 tons of corn and 1,200 tons of bean pulp, is needed per day in the province.
As prevention and control of NCP becomes stricter, feedstuff and raw material transport is becoming more limited. Therefore, the Hubei Poultry Association sent an emergency SOS letter for feedstuff support.
Sinograin responded by urgently arranging bean pulp production and logistics support.
With six oil processing bases in Dongguan of Guangdong Province, Zhenjiang of Jiangsu Province, Tangshan of Hebei Province, Panjin of Liaoning Province, Xinzheng of Henan Province and Chengdu of Sichuan Province, Sinograin Oils Corporation, a subsidiary of Sinograin, is an important platform to support market supply.
As the closest base to Hubei and with strong processing capacity, the Zhenjiang base shoulders the feedstuff supply mission.
The base started production on Feb 1 and is capable of producing 9,200 tons of soybean and 7,300 tons of bean pulp per day.
So far, four shipments of bean pulp weighing 8,135 tons had been transported to Hubei.
Zhou Hong, head of the rotation management department of Sinograin Oils Corporation, said that the Zhenjiang base now has about 10,000 tons of bean pulp in storage and enough raw materials. In addition, more feedstuff will be produced and transferred to Hubei from other bases.
