3D Printing Protective Goggles Developed to Overcome Front-Line Medical Shortage

The first 3D printing FDM-1 type surgical protective goggles passed trial operation by Xiangya Hospital Central South University on Feb 7 in Changsha, Hunan Province and were approved by the Changsha Administration for Market Regulation.

The goggles were developed by Hunan Vanguard Group Co., Ltd. (Vanguard), a subsidiary of China South Industries Group Co., Ltd. (CSGC).

With rich 3D printing experience, high-quality military industrial resources and devoted research teams, the company made the first 3D printing protective goggles within 24 hours and in the next six days, the research team repeatedly verified and optimized the product.

The goggles are now under emergency production.
