Sinopec Group receives China's first biological aviation fuel production certificate on Feb 12, 2014

China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec Group) was certified to produce biological aviation fuel in China on Feb 12, 2014.

It was proof that China-made bio-aviation fuel could obtain airworthiness approval and a starting point of production of such fuel in the country.

China became the fourth country after the United States, France and Finland to master the bio-aviation fuel technology and Sinopec Group was the first enterprise in China to develop it.

Bio-aviation fuel is made of renewable resources like waste cooking oil, animal fat and palm oil.
